DANIEL BEATTIE
About Me
Daniel Beattie is a Scottish composer, songwriter, producer and audio engineer. His work is characterised by a blend of different influences from genres such as rock, funk, pop, electro and hip hop combined with forward thinking production and homages to the retro music he draws influence from.
Captivated by music from an early age and began his music production journey using FL Studio when he was 16. His keen fascination with the technological side of music led to him studying for a BSc in Music Technology as well as a Masters in Music (Sound Productiom).
Under his artist alias 'Bluewave' he has had recent releases including multiple remixes for Ayrshire emo rock band DreamKids (Stay Safe With Me, It Must Be Nice, We Are Young) and he is currently working towards an EP release with fellow Ayrshire artist, singer-songwriter Dio Zelus, following their debut collaborative single ‘what i want’ in 2021. The debut collaborative single 'what i want' premiered on BBC Scotland Introducing and featured on Amazing Radio's A-List Playlist.

His recent work has seen him contribute to a number of projects including 'Telescopic Murmur', a creative response to the Distant Voices project, "It's Not Over Yet", an audio-visual project in response to the COP26 climate change conference as well as song-writing and production collaborations with Bethany Ferrie, Arron Taylor, David Grimason, Amar Chhina (CHHINA) & Savra Douglas (Summerlass).
